Our Property

+ Are there hiking trails on the property?

Dunlap Hollow boasts a rugged landscape of cliffs, caves, seasonal waterfalls, and an impressive overlook. It provides a pristine example of the iconic Hocking Hills terrain, but without the crowds. Guests of the cottage are welcome to hike the trails and experience the true essence of Dunlap Hollow.

Here's a peek at some of the trails on our property:

  • The Overlook Trail / 60 min, 0.8mi (Both Cabins)
Out and back to a scenic overlook with excellent views of the valley below.
  • The Lower Loop Trail / 30 min, 0.3mi (The Cottage)
Short loop that will take you past two seasonal waterfalls.

  • The Crescent Cave Trail / 20 min, 0.2mi (The A-Frame)
Short loop that goes through a large recess cave.
  • The Cliffs Trail / 50 min, 0.5mi (The A-Frame)
Loop that follows the cliffline, passes several unique caves, and arrives at a nice creek spot before returning through the low lying meadow.
We ask that all hikers leave no trace when exploring the trails. Littering, graphiti, and harvesting or harming vegetation are strictly forbidden. All guests, regardless of experience, are advised to stay on the marked trails, respect the rugged terrain, and to exercise caution at all times due to the hazards presented by the landscape. In consideration of the license to rent and stay at the Dunlap Hollow Cottage, all guests appreciate and assume the risks associated with these activities and the landscape hazards, and agree to hold the landowners harmless from any liabilities which could arise from such activities.
